Drive Ottawa at Night to See the Christmas Lights

Be delighted with the sight of hundreds of thousands of sparkling lights throughout downtown Ottawa. As part of Christmas Lights Across Canada, we’ll travel Confederation Boulevard, Canada’s ceremonial route.  There will be many important sites illuminated for the season, such as the National War Memorial, Rideau Canal Park, the Supreme Court of Canada, Jacques-Cartier Park, and the Garden of Provinces and Territories. This year, guests may also visit a new artistic light installation on Parliament Hill: Entre les rangs.  This is a new “sensory experience” that takes visitors on a stroll through an urban field.

Day 1: Travel to Ottawa

Board the coach and relax as we make our way to the nation’s capital. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner and show at Oh Canada, EH! Canada’s longest-running dinner musical featuring all-Canadian music from current pop hits to famous folk songs.

Day 2: Christmas Eve

Enjoy a delicious breakfast before embarking on a guided tour of Ottawa. See the famous sites such as the Supreme Court, the Parliament buildings, Sussex Drive, and Rideau Canal and hear the stories of Ottawa’s past. After lunch, the afternoon is yours to explore as you wish. National Gallery, Museum of History, Canadian War Museum, Byward Market, and the Rideau Centre are all close to the hotel and transportation will be offered to these venues. Prepare for some fun after dinner with games and Christmas music in the activity room. Transportation to a local church service will be available.

Day 3: Christmas Day in Ottawa

Today we celebrate Christmas! After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to attend a Christmas Service with arranged transportation followed by a light lunch. The rest of the day will be filled with festive fun, food, and cheer. There will be surprises from Santa, a contest for “The Most Beautiful Ugly Sweater,” and a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. The finishing touch for this special day is to experience the joy of a traditional drive at night to see the lights. The coach will wind through the city, sparkling with Christmas Lights Across Canada, and it will stop at the Parliament Buildings for the light show.

Day 4: Journey Home

This morning, depart Ottawa and head for home, stopping along the way for a farewell lunch. As we arrive home say goodbye and Merry Christmas to all your newfound friends.
