In the quieter months of 2011, we shut down The Nautilus Inn to make some important changes. As a result, all kitchens and bathrooms were upgraded with new fixtures, applicances, and granite countertops. The pool and hot-tub were rebuilt, and around the pool the plastic chairs were replaced with more comfortable fabric loungers and matching umbrellas. We have expanded the outside seating area and planted new trees, shrubs and flowers. The hotel has a more resort-like atmosphere, although the charming homey touch remains !

The catalogue of 2012 sightseeing tours for North American destinations will be in your mailbox sometime during the week following January 16. New this year, we are offering a trip to include the beautiful Gaspe region, and Perce Rock. Also new: a sightseeing tour to Philadelphia; an excursion to Ottawa for 4 days to explolre museums and the visiting Van Gogh exhibit; and The Tall Ships Nova Scotia festival. In recent years, our most popular tours have been the 10 day Newfoundland Tour and the 9 day New England Cruise, and we are offering more departures dates than ever to these maritime destinations. Carol and Sandro eagerly anticipate the arrival of their first 2012 guests in St. Pete Beach this weekend. They are quite happy to be spending another winter away from the snow and cold at the Tradewinds Sandpiper Hotel & Suites. There is still some space available if you would like to join them in this attractive community of Canadian snowbirds. Carol and Sandro have plans for lots of excursions, including shopping, sightseeing and social get-togethers for our guests, so get packing and escape the March storms in favour of a visit to the warm shores of the Gulf of Mexico.
