DOWN THE RABBIT-HOLE

DeNure Tours has a new logo!

For over 50 years, DeNure Tours has offered mature travellers the chance to follow their dreams and discover new destinations to explore. But it’s not just the destinations that have changed over the years. DeNure Tours is now pleased to offer traditional coach tours along with tours that begin with a flight, involve an ocean cruise, or even travel through Europe’s most famous waterways. But despite the mode of transportation, one thing has remained constant, our desire to offer high quality tours at a reasonable price.

Our new mascot, a white rabbit, reminded us of a character from Alice in Wonderland. Just as Alice followed a white rabbit and found exciting adventures, so too can DeNure Tours help you turn your travel dreams into reality.

Find out where we pick up
Departure Points

DeNure Tours determines pickup points based on the destination and routing for each tour. Regardless of the routing, there are certain pickup points that are almost always used: the Sheraton Airport Hotel, as well as other departure points in Toronto, Whitby, Bowmanville, Peterborough and Lindsay. Some tours have pickup points west of Toronto along Highway 401 while others have pickups throughout southwestern or southern Ontario. For tours that begin with a flight, a coach will not be involved in getting you to the airport.

Taxi Service
DeNure Tours will arrange round trip taxi service to meet the coach or flight, provided you live within a reasonable distance of our departure point. There is an additional charge for this service. The charge is based on the distance between your home and our departure point.

Airport Transfers
On sightseeing tours that begin and end with a flight, transfers to your first hotel from the airport, and from your last hotel to the airport are complimentary for passengers who purchase their airfare through DeNure Tours. If you make your own flight arrangements, these transfers are your responsibility.

Flight Departure Fees – Some cities/countries have departure taxes that are payable upon exiting in local currency. These fees are not included in your tour price as these fess must be paid in cash. If required, this fee will be noted on your travel documents.

Begin Your Tour Rested and Refreshed
We offer special rates for the night prior to your departure at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel and at the Lindsay Inn, in Lindsay, Ontario.

DeNure Tours’ Motorcoaches
Looking for more information on our coaches?
Our Coaches
DeNure Tours' motorcoaches have been modified for touring and include features such as increased legroom, carpeted floors, and an individually controlled stereo system. Coaches are washroom equipped. Most tours on this site will be operated with a DeNure Tours Prevost coach, but leased coaches will be used for tours in some parts of North America and overseas. Please note that smoking, food and beverages are not allowed aboard DeNure Tours’ coaches. We do stop every 3 to 4 hours for breaks and meals. However, those with medical concerns such as diabetes are encouraged to bring food items aboard the coach for emergency use.

Luggage Allowances
Express departures and Sightseeing Tours have different luggage allowances.

Florida & Myrtle Beach Departures
You are allowed to bring two large suitcases and one carry-on. All suitcases will be locked under the coach until arrival at the destination but your carry-on remains with you and can be stored in the overhead bins.

Sightseeing Tours
You are allowed to bring one large piece of luggage and one carry-on. Your luggage will be stored beneath the coach and delivered to your room each night at no additional charge. Your carry-on is your responsibility, and may be stored beneath the coach or kept at your seat. Luggage tags will be provided for identification by hotels.

Luggage Dimensions, Weight and Handling
Regardless of its size, your suitcase must not exceed 50 lbs. The optimum size for luggage typically measures 28” high, 20” wide and 10” deep. Your single piece of carry-on luggage should fit inside the overhead storage bins in the coach. The best dimensions are a maximum of 16” x 12” x 8”.

Although DeNure Tours’ staff are careful with your luggage, you must ensure that your luggage is in a condition sufficient to withstand the normal loading, unloading and delivery process.

Heavy or Excessive Pieces of Luggage
Heavy luggage harms the people who handle it. DeNure Tours’ employees are not required to handle luggage weighing more than 50 lbs. If your luggage exceeds 50 lbs, you will be charged the following fess: $35 for luggage weighing 51-70 lbs, and $75 for luggage weighing more than 70 lbs. You will also be charged if you carry more than the allowance, at a rate of $35 per extra piece of luggage. Baggage and personal effects are the sole responsibility of the owner at all times.

Tour Price
Prices are per person, based on two per room and include coach transportation, overnight accommodation, luggage handling (except at airports), services of DeNure Tours staff, and all sightseeing, meals and service charges as specified in your itinerary. HST is not included on tours that overnight in Canada. All prices are in Canadian dollars.

Prices are based upon costs and conditions in effect at the time of printing and are subject to change. Any price increases will affect new bookings only. On tours that include a flight, DeNure Tours makes commitments to the airlines 60 days prior to departure. Bookings made after this date are subject to fare increases imposed on us by the airlines.

Accommodation
Room assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis. Hotel names are listed in itineraries, and full details will be made available with your travel documents. In most cases, DeNure Tours reserves hotels with two beds. Parties of three or more may request additional beds or cots, but these requests are subject to hotel availability and you may incur additional hotel charges. If you have any special requests, please let us know when making your booking and we will endeavour to make the arrangements.

Itineraries
It is our intention to operate all tours as described in the itineraries. Local operational situations occasionally force changes and we reserve the right to make changes where necessary. On occasion, passengers may be photographed for the promotional purposes of DeNure Tours.

DeNure Tours' Responsibility
It is our intention to operate all tours as described in the itineraries. Operational situations occasionally force changes and we reserve the right to make changes where necessary.

DeNure Tours has made arrangements with hotels, transportation services, and other independent parties beyond its direct control to provide you with the travel services offered. We cannot be responsible for the acts or omissions of these parties, or anyone other than DeNure Tours’ own employees. DeNure Tours reserves the right to make changes in the published itinerary whenever conditions warrant, or if deemed necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of the tour. When travelling outside Canada, you may find different living standards, practices and conditions with respect to the provision of utilities, services and accommodation. Travelling means experiencing different cultures and standards of living, which makes your journey interesting and educational.

DeNure Tours will not be liable for any loss or damage, injury or death that occurs as a result of government actions, terrorism, acts of God, late arrivals, missed connections and other factors beyond our direct control. DeNure Tours does not accept liability for any carrier’s cancellation penalty incurred by the purchase of a non-refundable airline or other ticket.

In the event a tour must be rescheduled, DeNure Tours shall have no responsibility beyond the refund of all fares paid by the passenger to DeNure Tours.

In the unlikely event of a severe adverse weather condition, such as a hurricane, DeNure Tours monitors the weather system carefully. To ensure your safety, we will reschedule departures, and offer alternate departure dates. A refund for a shortened holiday may also be applicable. Should DeNure Tours opt to cancel a departure, affected bookings will be cancelled and payments refunded in full, including insurance and/or cancellation waiver charges. If no acceptable alternate can be arranged, you may cancel without penalty and obtain a full refund including insurance and waivers.

Traveller’s Responsibility
We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to a traveller for walking, dining, getting on or off the motorcoach, or other personal needs. If you require special assistance that cannot be provided by a person accompanying you, we may be unable to accept your booking. It is your responsibility to advise us at the time of booking of any special needs you may have and/or if you are travelling with mobility aids such as a walker, wheelchair, scooter or guide dog. If you are carrying oxygen, DeNure Tours must be notified at the time of booking. In the event we are unable to accommodate you and maintain safe operating conditions, we will ensure your return to the point of embarkation.

DeNure Tours reserves the right to terminate the trip (or remaining part thereof) of any passenger whose inappropriate actions or conduct adversely affects others, including other passengers, employees of DeNure Tours, and employees of partner establishments. The Tour Director and/or Driver will make that determination. Should your trip be terminated, there will be no refund for unused portions of the trip, and all costs for returning to the point of embarkation will be borne by the passenger.

Identification
Different countries require different citizenship documentation and it is your responsibility to obtain the proper documentation. Inadequate identification will result in your being denied entry to the destination country. If this happens, you will be responsible for your own transportation home.

A valid passport is required for all air and cruise transportation outside of Canada. As of June 1, 2009, a passport is also required for those travelling to the US by land.

Canadian Residents Holding non-Canadian Passports:
Upon entry into the US by land, you must fill out Form I-94, and pay $6 US per person. Upon your return to Canada, the form must be presented to the customs office as proof that you have left the US.

For Canadian residents flying into the US with a non-Canadian passport, the US has initiated an electronic visa waiver program. As of January 2009, those travelling by air under passports from the 27 participating countries are required to pre-register their arrival into the US via an online application. Our office may be able to assist you with this pre-registration.

DeNure Tours’ staff advise passengers of their travel document requirements, but we will not be responsible for passengers denied access to the US, or for re-entry into Canada. To facilitate border crossing, please keep your identification on your person.

Gratuities
Tips to waiters, taxi drivers, step-on guides, tour directors and drivers are a tangible way for you to express your appreciation for jobs well done. This practice, though customary, is voluntary and is not included in tour prices. As a guide to the amounts to tip, the following amounts are suggested:

Taxi Drivers
Drivers should be tipped 10% of the taxi fare.

Waiters
For meals that are not included in the tour price, tip waiters between 15% and 20% of your bill, but never less than $1.

Tour Directors and Drivers
A gratuity of $2 to $4 per person per day is suggested.

DeNure Tours Cancellation Protection Plan
Plan your holiday with confidence by purchasing the DeNure Tours Cancellation Protection Plan. For years, DeNure Tours has offered a Cancellation Protection Plan to guests travelling to our sunshine destinations in Florida and Myrtle Beach, and we are now extending the same coverage to guests travelling on sightseeing tours in North America.

Should you have to cancel your trip for any reason, our Cancellation Protection Plan guarantees a full refund of all payments except the Cancellation Protection Plan fee itself. We offer this plan because we know that despite your greatest intentions, unexpected events occasionally change your schedule, and you must cancel your holiday plans. Whether it is because of a surprise family wedding, the illness of a close friend, or the sudden onset of a cold, we offer a "no strings attached" opportunity to cancel your vacation right up to the day of departure, for any reason. We ask no questions, do not require a doctor's note, and we refund your money right away.

Should you choose to purchase the Cancellation Protection Plan, the fee must be paid to DeNure Tours with your deposit. The Protection Plan is non-refundable, non-transferable and valid for each applicant only.

Medical Insurance
Travellers should not travel outside Ontario without adequate insurance. DeNure Tours has partnered with RBC Insurance to protect travellers from the expense of medical emergencies while traveling out of the province. The cost of medical insurance varies depending on age and medical condition. The cost of cancellation insurance varies depending on the value of the trip purchased. We recommend you purchase cancellation insurance to protect the financial investment you have made in your holiday. Insurance premiums are non-refundable once your trip has been paid in full. Our reservations agent will discuss this with you in more detail when you make your reservation.
