Ottawa Tulip Festival

Spring comes alive with Nature's first blooms in Ottawa, where this year we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Canadian Tulip Festival. Over one million tulips in more than 50 varieties will bring a myriad of color throughout the National Capital Region. With the support of local artists, artisans, musicians and schools, the festival preserves the legacy of the gift of the tulip to all Canadians. The Dutch royal family originally sent tulip bulbs to Ottawa in gratitude for Canadians having sheltered Princess Juliana and her daughters during the occupation of the Netherlands in the Second World War.

A New Face at the Nautilus Inn
Maile Deasy has joined our group at the Nautilus Inn, as the Assistant Manager. Maile brings many years of hotel experience to our organization, and we welcome her knowledge and enthusiasm.

To honour Susan's request, Ray DeNure has provided an injection of funds to a program for families that are not able to afford bikes for their children. Susan was a passionate athlete, and in her honour, Ray has set up the Susan DeNure Sports Fund, that in cooperation with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes, will allow children the joy, health and fun of riding a bike of their own.
